I write
I write contemporary fiction from my home in Treaty 7 Calgary, Canada. My first novel, OUT OF PLAY, was published in 2016 with Crooked Cat Books, and FLYING THE NEST was released by Dixi Books in November 2020. I'm currently celebrating the release of my first picture book for little ones -- Marjorie Magic! .Illustrations by the super talented Anushka Shenoy and published by Dixi Books. I read My coveted Edmonton Public Library card, circa 1984, is still tucked away in a drawer at home. The book mobile was responsible for introducing me to my first literary loves, Beverly Cleary, and Judy Blume, and while I'm still an avid reader today my tastes have broadened. Join me on Goodreads if you are looking for a book recommendation. I'm sure to have one for you! I laugh Is laughter a coping mechanism or indicative of a passion for life? Humour is what keeps me grounded and connected in a muddled world. |
I speak
As a writer and a social worker I believe storytelling is a powerful tool for fostering empathy and bridging the human experience. Sharing stories can be transformative and inspire us to take action. I'm particularly passionate about stories related to society and gender, ability, and the lived experience of poverty in Canada.
